What is it?

Onychomycosis is an infection of the nails caused by a fungus. Symptoms of the infection will vary depending on the type of fungus involved, but thickened nails and yellow discoloration are common.

  • Onychomycosis is a type of nail infection caused by pathogenic fungi.

  • Approximately half of nail conditions are Onychomycosis, making it the most common nail disorder.

  • Both fingernails and toenails can develop fungal infections, but toenails are more commonly affected.

Because the nail fungus is trapped between the nail bed and nail plate, it is harder to treat. Consequently, oral and topical applications are mostly ineffective.

How we treat it?

Our powerful laser beam passes through the nail where the nail fungus is embedded between the nail bed and nail plate, destroying the pathogenic fungi.

How much pain can I expect?
Virtually none. You will feel the nail heating up but it is very tolerable.

How many treatments will I need?
Usually three treatments spread over a 12-week period is sufficient to completely eliminate the fungi. If your case is more severe, we may suggest you have more than three sessions.
