Sun Spots & Red Veins treatments
Sun Spots treatments
In New Zealand we spend a lot of time outdoors. Sun spots can develop on the skin as a result of prolonged periods in the sun. Also known as solar lentigines, sun spots can vary on size, shape and colour and can take many years to develop on the skin. These spots form when pigment collects in the upper layer of epidermis and develops into a brown spot. They generally form in areas regularly exposed to the sun.
Laser is an effective, quick and non-invasive way to remove unwanted sun spots from areas of the body. Our Quanta Alexandrite Laser produces a wavelength of high energy light, which is converted into heat energy. This targets the sun spots as the laser is only absorbed by cells containing an excessive concentration of pigmentation.
Following treatment the darkened areas of skin flake and fall off. Sun spots can often be effectively removed with one to three laser treatments.

A Sun Spot or Red Veins Treatment
Spider veins or broken capillaries
There’s no need to be stuck with spider veins. Laser treatment is an effective way to get rid of any unwanted ones that may pop up!
Spider veins are small, red, pink and blue blood vessels that can be seen through the skin and appear most frequently on the legs and face. They are often a result of ageing, sun damage, or genetics.
When treated using our Candela GentleLase Pro, a wavelength of laser light is absorbed by haemoglobin in the veins. It coagulates the spider veins, destroying the vessels, while not impacting the surrounding tissue.
Often all that is needed is one or two laser treatments to destroy the veins. However, this will vary from person to person. It will depend on the number of vessels being treated and their location.
Laser treatments are a successful way to permanently destroy all the existing spider veins in a treated area. However, new veins can form over time, but they can easily be treated as well.
